Karen Gurney

Director

Karen is the Director of Team Bonding and brings over 10 years of experience across the team building space. With a background in human resources and event management, she has developed extensive expertise in designing and delivering engaging workplace experiences that strengthen communication, collaboration, and team performance across Australia. 

Karen oversees a diverse portfolio of programs including large-scale team events, Amazing Race experiences, game show activations, leadership workshops, and CSR-focused initiatives delivered in partnership with organisations and communities across Australia.  

With a deep understanding of people, culture, and organisational dynamics, Karen specialises in creating experiences that go beyond entertainment focusing instead on measurable improvements in team cohesion, engagement, and workplace performance. She works closely with clients to customise experiences that align with strategic objectives, ensuring each event delivers both impact and lasting value.

Tessa is the Events Manager at Team Bonding, responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of dynamic corporate team building experiences. She specialises in turning concepts into seamless, high-energy events that engage participants and encourage collaboration, communication, and teamwork. 

Her experience spans conference activations, experiential learning programs, Amazing Race challenges, game show-style events, and large-scale team activities tailored to a wide range of industries. Known for her strong organisational skills and calm, solutions-focused approach, Tessa ensures every event runs smoothly from planning through to execution.

This was the second time Team Bonding coordinated an activity for our annual conference of more than 350 attendees, and they were just as fantastic as the first time. We recently partnered with Team Bonding Australia for our mid-year team event across Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, and they absolutely delivered. What an absolute blast! We recently took our team on the Kombi Amazing Race, and it was hands down one of the best team-building experiences we've ever done. From the moment we climbed into the Kombis, the energy was fantastic — lots of laughs, friendly competition, and plenty of moments that will be talked about for a long time to come!

Frequently Asked Questions

Many of our events are outdoors. In the event of bad weather, we do have an indoor alternative (Game Show), provided a venue is available. Alternatively, we can postpone your event.

Each activity is different but generally comfortable clothes and shoes.  Your team is welcome to dress up in there team colours but we do advise against anything too restrictive or heavy as you may become uncomfortable!

Unless stated in the activity description, food and drink are not included in any of our activities. However, through our Team Bonding catering service, we offer the option to include catering for your event. Additionally, we have partnered with some fantastic venues that you can use as your finish point. These venues provide a special Team Bonding food and beverage package, which we would be more than happy to help book for you. 

We are fully insured for all our activities, with $20 million public liability insurance with SportsCover. Our legal advice has indicated that should any injuries occur, your group are covered by their existing Workcover workers compensation provisions.

A 20% deposit is non-refundable. However, we are happy to use this deposit as a credit towards a future Team Bonding event. Bookings that are cancelled or postponed within 48 hours of your event, we withhold the right to invoice you for any staff or out of pocket costs involved in the event changes.
