Vivid Amazing Race
Take advantage of the magic of the Vivid Festival of lights in Sydney by pairing it with our #1 team event, the Amazing Race. 2018 dates from Friday May 25 to Saturday June 16.
What is it:
3 of our most popular courses, the Botanic Gardens, The Rocks and Pyrmont Darling Harbour can all be run in the late afternoon so your team can stay in town to enjoy the lights of Vivid from 6pm.

Our most popular course starts in Sydney’s spectacular Royal Botanic Gardens. We stay in the gardens for close to an hour and head out around the Opera House and down East Circular Quay, generally finishing in Circular Quay (right in the thick of the Vivid action).
The Rocks course is super popular as it has a great buzz throughout. Starting in Lang Park (near Wynyard), teams first head to Observatory Hill. From there a challenge leads you through the winding laneways of the Rocks. You’ll pop up in Circular Quay near the Overseas Passenger Terminal and head past the Museum of Contemporary Art for another checkpoint. In the last sections teams loop around to East Circular Quay to the Sydney Opera House.
For both the Rocks and Circular Quay we’ll suggest finishing venues that are right in the thick of the action for Vivid. The best of these is likely to be Buckleys. (Minimum spends apply during Vivid).
Our Pyrmont Darling Harbour course is also fantastic. Starting in front of Star Casino, this course includes historic Pyrmont, Union Square, the harbour foreshore around the Maritime Museum, Pyrmont Park and Darling Harbour.
You can enjoy drinks overlooking the lights and fountains from either the Darling Harbour or the Cockle Bay side (for eg Cafe Del Mar).
What to expect:
After a warm up at the start point, the sub teams (of 7-8 players) leave the start armed with a folder, map and the clue to the first of 4-5 checkpoints. At each destination we brief you on the required point scoring activities. Once complete, you receive your clue to the next destination and the race unfolds.
We get a huge amount of positive feedback about our activities. Have a look at this page on our website to get a sense of the types of activities that teams complete. We’ll ask you a bit about your team and choose activities to suit.
The final challenge is popular with all teams, the famous “photo shoot”, where we give each team a digital camera and a list of photographs to compose and take. We send all these photos on to you via Dropbox. They are invariably the highlight and provides a great reminder of the day. (All photos throughout the website come from this task.)
Most teams finish at a close by venue and enjoy a couple of drinks whilst we tally up the scores. Shortly after the last team arrives there is a 5 minute presentation that highlights the great team performances and reflects on the each group’s achievements before the winners are announced.
It is a simple event, enjoyed by every type of team.
