Blow Your Minds by Adding a Water Taxi Leg to the Amazing Race and Celebrate the Best of Sydney
What to expect:
This is a fantastic option and takes the Amazing Race to a whole other level. We can add a water taxi leg to the Botanic Gardens / Circular Quay course, Cockle Bay or Kirribilli. (Can also do the Rocks, but we tend to feel the Botanic Gardens works better with water taxis).
You get all the joy of the Amazing Race with the addition of visiting checkpoints from other courses and our spectacular harbour.
Adding water taxis is also a smart way to open up different finishing options, eg Woolloomooloo, Rushcutters Bay, Luna Park, Darling Harbour, Pier One etc. We used to go to Cockatoo Island … we still can but they charge their full activity fee for a truncated time … (what a shame) but definitely ask about that if you have budget.
For the Botanic Gardens route you join the water taxis at the Man ‘O War Jetty at the Opera House scoot over to Lavender Bay / Luna Park for a 10 minute challenge, then to Cockle Bay or Darling Harbour for our very popular Charm Task. The taxis drop you back at Circular Quay to complete the race with the Photo Shoot Challenge to the finish point.
We do a similar route from Cockle Bay incorporating Luna Park and East Circular Quay and back to Cockle Bay to finish the Race. We can also add this option to our Kirribilli course, where you visit the city and Darling Harbour.
This takes the total duration of the event to around 2.75 hours. Physically it is easier than a standard Amazing Race as much of the distance is covered on the water. We can start at virtually any time that suits you, but need to finish before dusk.
$300 + gst for each water taxi. Maximum 16 people per water taxi (generally 2 groups of 7-8). We pass this on at cost with no commission or administration fee. Charges payable direct to water taxi company and their terms apply.
